Morrison Garages (MG) has denied rumors of MG Capital's closure, stating that it is only temporarily shuttered due to "COVID-19 rules."
The claims are based on social media reports that have been circulating since yesterday. In a similar video, a group of customers stormed the MG Capital dealership, allegedly out of rage over the late delivery of their automobiles. It shows individuals yelling at the showroom employees and complaining about late delivery.
Later, screenshots of alleged MG Capital closures were shared on social media.
According to sources, the MG Capital dealership had a target of 400 deliveries, but owing to overwhelming demand, the employees booked 1200 automobiles, causing deliveries to be delayed.
On Thursday, MG Pakistan published a statement denying the report of MG Capital's closure. It stated that "MG Capital is temporarily closed for disinfection as per COVID guidelines," and "Deliveries of MG HS will continue under strict COVID SOPs from our service center with prior appointment."
According to an MG official, the real reason for MG Capital's brief shutdown is that one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19. He went on to say that other manufacturers are also experiencing difficulties and that MG has one of the greatest amounts of bookings, which has resulted in delivery delays.
He explained that the majority of the automobiles in issue have been cleared at the Karachi port and are on their way to dealerships throughout the nation, where they would be delivered to consumers.
