The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has informed the Peshawar High Court (PHC) that the ban on TikTok would remain in place until the renowned short-video sharing platform implements an efficient system for monitoring and removing undesirable material in Pakistan.

On Wednesday, the briefing took place during a hearing of a case jointly filed by Peshawar residents seeking a total ban on TikTok owing to the platform's breach of Islamic provisions of Pakistan's 1973 Constitution. The PTA clarified in a detailed report submitted to a PHC bench comprised of Chief Justice (CJ) PHC Qaiser Rashid Khan and Justice Ijaz Anwar that it had advised TikTok to remove illegal content and enact a proactive mechanism for content moderation in Pakistan under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 and Removal and Blocking of Unlawful Online Content Rules 2020.

It is an unusual event, but it happened only in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, when a female student aced her matric test without losing a single mark out of 1100.

On Tuesday, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Mardan released the results of the grade 10 and 12 exams, with a female student from a private school taking first place and receiving 1100 marks out of 1100.

China intends to construct a gigantic spacecraft that will be nearly a mile in length.

The Chinese programme is designed to research the process of building a massive spaceship. China is examining the possibility of creating colossal spacecraft, which can measure up to 1 kilometre in length. Even if possible, how practical is the notion of a vessel of that size, and what use would it serve?

An open call for research studies has been issued by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, administered by the country's Ministry of Science and Technology.

Assuming the project receives the necessary funding, the feasibility study will continue for five years and spend $2.3 million.

Mason Peck, a former NASA chief technologist, claims that the notion doesn't appear crazy when looking at the project objectively.

Construction of this magnitude will likely encounter issues specific to it. Peck emphasized that whenever a spacecraft is manoeuvred or docked, the action transmits energy to the spacecraft's structure, causing it to shake and flex. 

With such a large structure, these vibrations take a long time to settle. Therefore the spaceship will probably need shock absorbers or an active power filter to counter these vibrations.

Engineers will have to make sensible trade-offs when determining the spacecraft's orbital altitude, according to Peck. Since there is more drag at lower altitudes, low-altitude vehicles must spend a great deal of time continuously adjusting their orbits.

Peck explained that this problem already affects the ISS, but it would be a massive issue for a structure with more drag, a larger size, and a requirement for more fuel to manoeuvre it back into place.

The other issue is that an increased altitude means more costly propulsion, and radiation levels shoot up fast as you move away from Earth's atmosphere, which will be an issue if the spacecraft is carrying people.

Professor Michael Lembeck, a space flight engineer who has participated in government and private programmes, said the engineering is doable, but it wouldn't be realistic in any real-world setting.

In an interview with, he explained, "It's like us discussing the construction of the Starship Enterprise."

He stated, "It's imaginative, not practical, and it's cool to think about, but it's not really realistic in the face of our current technological constraints."

Lembeck stated that given the limited budget of the research endeavour, it is likely designed to be a short, academic study to discover deficiencies in the technology. 

In comparison, building a capsule to transport humans to the International Space Station was $3 billion. "As a result, the amount of work here is extraordinarily low in comparison to the anticipated objectives," he noted.

Asif Mehmood, an adviser to the Punjab CM on tourism, stated that private security guards would be armed with wireless sets, firearms, and motorcycles and provided with lodging and security at PHA facilities.

He ordered that the parks be outfitted with cameras and that existing cameras be repaired within one month.

He said there is a proposal in the works to revamp a day in a week solely for women and families and create a new area solely for women in parks with numerous visitors.

 The first official press release of the Taliban says they want peace and vow to protect women's rights in Islamic law.

Since the conquest of Kabul by the Taliban, the group has had the first press conference in the city. The group has stated that it wants peaceful relations with foreign countries and is dedicated to upholding women's rights but within the parameters of Islamic law. 

The movement's primary spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, declared: "We do not desire any internal or external opponents." 

In a statement issued on behalf of the militants, Mujahid,
who had previously been a mysterious figure delivering pronouncements on their
behalf, stated that women would be permitted to work and study and that they
would be "extremely engaged in society, but within the framework of
Islam."

He insisted that "everyone has been forgiven" and
that the Taliban would not pursue retaliation against former soldiers or
members of the Western-backed government if they returned home. He went on to
say that the movement was extending amnesty to former Afghan government
soldiers, as well as contractors and interpreters who had served with multinational
forces in the country. 

"We don't want any internal or external enemies,"
Zabihullah Mujahid, the movement's senior spokesman, said in an interview.

In an interview with a U.S. television network, Afghan President
Hamid Karzai told a reporter that the Taliban would not seek retaliation
against former members of the Western-backed administration and that
"everyone is forgiven." He went on to say that the movement was
providing amnesty to former Afghan government soldiers, as well as contractors
and interpreters who had served with international forces throughout the
conflict. 

Nothing is going to harm you, and no one is going to knock
on your door, he assured the audience. 

His statement went on to say that a new administration would
be formalized in Kabul as soon as the uncertain situation there permitted it. 

Mujahid emphasized that Afghanistan would not tolerate
anyone who wished to wage war against other countries harboring in its
territory. As part of a deal reached with the Trump administration in 2020, the
militants demanded that the United States withdraw from Syria, which was
eventually granted under current President Joe Biden. 

He stated that private media could continue to operate
freely and independently in Afghanistan and that the Taliban were dedicated to
the media within the context of Afghan culture. 

He also promised that Afghanistan, which, according to a
United Nations drug control agency, is the source of the majority of the
world's heroin, would be free of narcotics, and he appealed to the
international community to assist the country in developing alternative crops
for farmers who have relied on opium poppies for their livelihood. 

Amrullah Saleh, Afghanistan's first vice president, called
himself the "legitimate caretaker president" and pledged not to
submit to Kabul's new rulers. Mujahid's conciliatory tone stood in stark
contrast to Saleh's statements.

The Taliban's press conference happened while U.S. and
Western allies evacuated their personnel and civilians from the embassy and
other Western facilities in Kabul, following the security disarray at Kabul
airport. 

Even as international powers race to remove diplomats and
citizens from Afghanistan, they also consider how they should respond to the
deteriorating situation on the ground. 

According to Nato Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, the
Taliban should enable all those who wish to leave the country. The
organization's goal is to assist in the establishment of a functional state in
Afghanistan. 

During the tumultuous circumstances at Kabul International
Airport, there has been significant condemnation of the United States' exit.

The Taliban made a bargain not to target Western troops as
they depart from Afghanistan in the previous year. 

Foreign officials have indicated they will wait to see if

experienced under their prior reign.

The voice of Anthony Bourdain was recreated using artificial intelligence in the new documentary about him

In the latest video from documentary director Morgan Neville, the acclaimed TV personality and author Anthony Bourdain is examined as a possible example of how depression might terminate one's life. 

The New Yorker provides additional information by explaining that to fill in some of the gaps, Neville used artificial intelligence to compile a digital recording of Bourdain's voice to
fill in three different quotes in his documentary, "Roadrunner: A Film
About Anthony Bourdain," which opened in theatres today. 

However, while the audio in some sections
of the film is computer-created, the quotes are not. This is a fortunate
development.   

Neville said to the magazine, "I
constructed an AI model of his speech and was able to use it to generate three
quotes that there were no records of." 

He created a digital model for a software
business from a dozen hours of audio recordings of Bourdain's voice. 

It is practically hard to tell the
difference between the mimicked, disembodied voice of the late famous trip
documentary director and the actual thing, according to the filmmaker. 

If you see the film, other than the line
you stated, you are likely to be unaware of the other lines spoken by the AI,
and you are not expected to be aware of them, according to Neville, who said to
The New Yorker. 

For now, Neville isn't too concerned about
doing it. It has these clear dystopian overtones and ramifications, but he says
it's still worth considering.   

Later, the director stated, "There's a
documentary-ethics panel on it that we can hold at a later date. 

This is probably a rather creepy
application of technology to revive the dead — especially since Bourdain's life
leading to his terrible demise was shaped with AI.
