Suzuki Suspends Cultus Bookings and Discontinues Swift: Report
ByFaisal Chughtai | Published date:
Pak Suzuki Motor Firm (PSMC) has made headlines once again after claiming record-high quarterly earnings. Recent news sources indicate that the company has officially terminated the 2nd Generation Swift and has temporarily stopped bookings for the Cultus.
The story was reported by Business Recorder, who also said that numerous dealerships had verified the development throughout the nation.
According to the report, one of the dealers informed the publication that the primary reason for the suspension of Suzuki Cultus booking is a lack of semi-conductor chips.
Bookings for the Cultus have been stopped for nearly a month, according to the dealer.
The Suzuki Swift's – although long-overdue – retirement is also being seen as a strategic decision since the firm has been witnessing a sharp drop in sales statistics for the 10-year-old hatchback.
PSMC is expected to launch the fourth generation, Suzuki Swift, in Pakistan in the first quarter of the 2022 calendar year.
In recent months, a few pictures of 4th generation Swift CBUs in Pakistan have also surfaced on various social media platforms, indicating the vehicle's imminent arrival.
Whatever the case may be, difficult times seem to be ahead for Pakistan's entire automotive sector, because global supply chain problems would continue to hammer the global automotive industry.
