The 6th generation Honda City will make its debut in Pakistan tomorrow, according to Honda Atlas Cars Limited (HACL) (29 July). The company's Chief Financial Officer made the news during a corporate conference earlier today. He also stated that a complete list of features and prices for various variants would be released tomorrow.
During the conference, several additional information was revealed, including the company's success in terms of yearly car sales and financial growth over the previous fiscal year.
HACL stated during the session that it is now working at total capacity in double shifts and that it has set a target of selling around 8,000 and 9,000 units each quarter over the next three to four quarters.
Furthermore, vehicle finance accounts for 48 percent of its current sales, a figure that is rising as auto financing has become the new standard due to significant price hikes and lower interest rates on automobile loans.
During the discussion, it was also disclosed that HACL has a special localization rate of 51 percent in its models and is always working to increase this rate.
Officials from the firm indicated that they are considering integrating electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) in their portfolio but that they are waiting for the EV and HEV policies to become "more consistent."
Due to global supply chain difficulties such as a lack of semiconductor microchips and a significant spike in freight rates over the last several days, the firm revealed that it is only creating a limited number of vehicle units. Despite these challenges, HACL plans to expand its manufacturing capacity and add crossover SUVs to its portfolio in Pakistan in the near future.
The next version of the Honda City, according to HACL, will help raise the vehicle's sales even more, as it has already proven to be quite popular among people who are anxiously anticipating its release.
