Android 12 will include not only UI and performance enhancements but also significant changes for gamers. You will be able to play games while they are being downloaded in the future version of Android.

This should be especially useful for large games like Call of Duty Mobile or Genshin Impact. On PC and consoles, the functionality is already available on select Blizzard and EA Origin stores. It's great to see it's finally making its way to Android, albeit it'll only work with games that use Google's Play Asset Delivery system.

Furthermore, Google has released its newest Android Game Development Kit, which will allow developers to access sophisticated features and make their job easier without switching between tools. By allowing virtually all tools to work across all Android versions, this feature attempts to decrease fragmentation. It will also be upgraded to accommodate new Android features.

The developers will be able to track the performance of their games by looking at the CPU and GPU use. These statistics can also be made available to users.

Google's Android Developers Blog has a complete list of future gaming features.
