Severed Steel, a first-person shooter that promises beautiful gameplay, is released on PC on September 17. The PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch will get it later this year. The influences of Mirror's Edge and Black may be seen throughout Severed Steel.
But the core of the action is that you have the opportunity to walk about an ultimately destructive world, dive and flip while you fire down evil dudes.
Character, Steel, is a one-armed operative who is working to destroy the EdenSys conglomerate.
Although Steel effectively uses acrobatics and bullet-time powers to make a flashy spectacle of her takedowns, there is a caveat. If you run out of ammo, you will need to obtain a replacement weapon as quickly as possible.
Steel has several options for reloading, but it's not the only one of his abilities that the trailer highlights. Severed Steel lets you do it any way you want: from busting down doors to sprinting along walls or taking advantage of time-slowing to get those headshots.
There's an early-access demo of Severed Steel on Steam that now comes with a new campaign level, and a revamp of the game's mechanics.
The PC will be the first platform to receive Severed Steel, followed by a later release on PS4 and Xbox One.
