Different things are being priced higher by Utility Stores(USC).

The cost of several products, including ghee, oil, mixed pudding, chilli powder, and custard, have all increased due to the actions of the Utility Stores Corporation. It has been announced that the costs of several types of ghee and oil have increased. Previously sold for Rs1,630 per five kilogrammes, ghee now costs Rs1,720.
Cooking oil prices have gone up to Rs1,720 per 5kg, as opposed to Rs1,650 previously. Pudding that has meat and dairy has seen a 10 rupee rise in price, now costing Rs162 per 310 grammes. The price of pepper packs has gone up ten rupees, from 109 to 119 rupees every 50 grammes.
The price of tomato ketchup jumped from Rs578 to Rs630 every 3.5kg and from Rs52 to Rs76 per bottle. Custard prices increased by Rs10 to Rs55 per 120 grammes, up from Rs45 previously.
Other products, such as tissue paper, detergent, and spices, have also seen price increases. But, again, the prices are instantly applied.
In the meantime, on Thursday, the Standing Committee on Industries instructed the USC to adopt rigorous actions to prevent plundering, theft and other violations in utility stores.

The committee highlighted the importance of making sure that subsidies assist the poor with a trickle-down effect. It advocated for franchising.
The government intends to use these stores as a focused subsidy instrument, according to the government.
It informed the committee that 90 outlets were losing money because they offered services to people living in remote places with no access to the outside world. As a result, the government intends to cross-subsidize items to reduce losses.
According to the committee, more than 50 units are operating in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The committee also reviewed steel mill difficulties, raising worries about price increases and their impact on the circular debt.
Some members expressed concern that this might impact the PM Housing Scheme and other residential initiatives that benefitted ordinary people.
Sabzwari, the committee's chairman, instructed the ministry to provide the committee with specifics on price reduction options, as well as the financial implications of doing so.
Following the ministry's request, the committee decided to deal with the matter 90 days after the computerization and bar-coding process, both critical to the organization's success.
