Wahab Riaz, a talented left-arm bowler, claims that playing cricket in the UAE has affected Pakistan's pace bowling squad. He claims that the UAE delivers far more support to spin bowlers, as fast bowlers have suffered in the long term due to the country's circumstances.

Wahab claimed that the pace bowling attack would be more effective if the Pakistan team played on the home ground. He went on to say that the dependency on pacemen has declined tremendously, which resulted in a reduction in the number of fast bowlers emerging from the ranks.

Pakistani pacers, like me, were negatively impacted by playing at home in the UAE. But who knows what will happen; I could yet play several more international matches," Wahab remarked.

Fast bowler believes he still has a job for the Pakistan team and is always willing to play for his country if called upon. The fact that he has not been considered for selection in the recent past has been disheartening, but he feels that only the selection board understands the specific reason for his exclusion.

The pacer expressed his hope that the selection board acts in the better interests of Pakistan cricket and makes the best judgments for the team

With the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) currently underway, the express pace bowler hopes to make his way back into the national T20 squad before the commencement of this year's Twenty20 world cup.
