In an official announcement, Ramiz Raja, a former opening batsman, has been named chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Before Ramiz, only three other former international cricketers had been appointed as chairmen of the PCB.

The retired judge Sheikh Azmat Saeed, the Election Commissioner of the PCB, oversaw a private session in which Ramiz was chosen unanimously and unchallenged as PCB chairman for a term of three years.

At 59, Imran Khan appointed them to the governors with a three-year tenure alongside Aasim Wajid Jawad, Alia Zafar, Arif Saeed, Javed Kureishi, and Wasim Khan. They all had independent positions (PCB Chief Executive).

The recently appointed PCB chairman praised the committee for putting him in his position. He thanked the PCB'sPCB's board members for electing him to the position of chairman and said

He was forward to begin working with them to help Pakistan cricket flourish both on and off the field.
I intend to reinstate the mindset, mentality, and playing style that made Pakistan once a formidable cricket side in the world," he said.

There are rumours that Ramiz would soon have a news conference to talk about his new position as the chairman of the PCB.
