The Lahore Police Department has established its first official website based on the concepts of citizen-centric policing and community awareness. The website was inaugurated on Thursday by CCPO Lahore, Additional IG (AIG) Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, SSP Discipline, Mubasher Makan, SDPO North Cantt, ASP Bushra Nisar, and other top police officials.
In his remarks at the opening event, CCPO Lahore said that the website has all of the essential information and instructions about the various services provided by the Lahore Police to its residents. Community policing, public service standards, digital systems and apps, police facilitation centers, front offices, complaints mechanisms, and police information are among the services provided.
To assist differently-abled people, the website has a functional disability mode. It also includes all of the top police officers' contact information. It would also regularly publish seniority lists, promotion orders, exam and interview schedules, standing orders, and directives affecting any Lahore Police cadre's general members.
The CCPO went on to say that the website is user-friendly, has a one-page layout that meets international standards, and is protected by a robust anti-hacking Drupal CMS system.
Although the introduction of the official website by Lahore Police is a good step, the website only includes information from all agency arms. It lacks an essential feature of contemporary citizen-centric policing, namely online FIR filing.
