From July 12 to July 31, all public and private colleges and institutions in Punjab will be closed.

The Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) declared this in an official statement on Monday.

"All public/autonomous and private sector colleges and universities in Punjab shall remain closed for summer vacation from July 12 to 31."

It said that the (SSC)/ (HSSC) Annual Examination 2021 would be held by all intermediate and secondary education boards in accordance with the previously announced timetable.

"All public and private institutions may also conduct their examinations according to their schedules while strictly adhering to COVID-19 SOPs," it stated.

It should be noted that the Punjab Education Department has previously stated that summer break would begin on July 1 for all schools in the province.

Murad Raas, the provincial minister of education, confirmed it in a tweet on June 29. He stated that the province's schools would be closed from July 1 to August 1.

"[During holidays], my appeal to all children and their families is that they follow the government's SOPs," the education minister stated.
