Sony has released a lighter PS5 Digital Edition.

Sony has quietly released the CFI-1102A model for the PS5 Digital Edition. The new model will initially be available in Australia, and it will after that be available in other markets.

The new model is 300g lighter than the previous generation and weighs 3.6KG. It also features a redesigned stand design that doesn't need the use of a screwdriver to assemble. This is because the box includes a new screw with a gripping texture, enabling you to attach it by hand.

Aside from that, it's the same console as before, with no modifications to the hardware or looks. We've already seen the model number CFI-1102A in leaked store lists in Japan, so the market will likely receive it shortly. There is no information on when the new PS5 version will be released for the rest of the globe since no official statements have been made.

However, it won't be long until the new system arrives in Japan since it has already been seen in Australia. The pricing will most likely be the same as the standard PS5 Digital Edition. Keep an eye out for updates.
