A consumer court in Karachi has fined a mobile phone manufacturing business for providing a damaged mobile phone to a client. According to the data, a man from Karachi filed a case against a mobile manufacturer, claiming that he purchased a phone worth Rs. 15,000 in July of last year, but the phone proved to be defective since it kept restarting itself.

He informed the firm of the problem, and they requested him to send the machine in for repair. However, the firm never returned the phone and claimed that there was a lack of specific components that prevented it from fixing it.

In response to the petition, the Consumer Court of South Karachi levied a Rs. 10,000 fine on the mobile maker and ordered it to either return the repaired mobile phone or give the petitioner with a new mobile phone.

The Consumer Court also threatened to file contempt proceedings against the mobile maker if the corporation failed to pay the fine and return the repaired phone or give the petitioner with a new phone. The Judge of the Consumer Court said that individuals come to the courts expecting justice, and perpetrators of internet fraud cannot be excused.
