On Sunday, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Noor ul Haq Qadri, said that restrictions on Pakistani Umrah pilgrims would be lifted over the next two to three weeks.

According to the government, COVID-related restrictions are easing across the world, and restrictions for Umrah pilgrims will be removed shortly. He was addressing during the inauguration of a new Hajj pilgrim facility in Peshawar's Haji Camp phase 7.

The Minister disputed that pilgrims are paying more for Hajj and Umrah but said that higher airline prices are to blame for the extra costs.

Saudi Arabia has granted entry to visitors who have taken two doses of the Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines on the condition that they take an extra dose of one of the four approved vaccines.

He stated that the new pilgrims' facility would allow them to congregate under one roof more easily. He said:

The facility will offer document verification and COVID vaccination all under one roof, in addition to teaching Hajj pilgrims' courses and classes.
