In response to increased instances of harassment against women, the Punjab Police Department has created an app that allows women to contact authorities in an emergency. The program, dubbed "Women Safety App," allows women to notify Police Emergency Helpline 15 with the press of a button. It also provides the complaint's coordinates to the authorities, allowing them to find the complainant quickly.
The application also has an Emergency Live Chat for women's help. During an emergency, they may also contact the helplines of the Punjab Highway Patrol and the Motorway Police. it also displays all safe, partly secure, and insecure locations on the map based on other women's ratings. Women may also provide evaluations about any location using the app.
The program is also immediately connected with the IGP Complaint Center, the PCSW Complaint Portal, and the Ombudsman Complaint Portal, allowing women to file complaints quickly.
It includes many laws, acts, and ordinances aimed at raising women's consciousness. It contains the Child Marriage Act, the Code of Workplace Conduct, the Harassment Act of 2012, the Child Labor Ordinance, and the Women Workplace Act of 2010. The Women Safety App is available on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
