According to media sources, following the harassing incident at Minar-e-Pakistan, the Punjab Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) issued a ban on TikTokers entering all public parks on Sunday.
According to a PHA statement, all Tiktokers must get authorization from the relevant PHAs before entering parks.
However, according to a tweet by Azhar Mashwani, "Focal Person (Digital Media) to CM Punjab," the Punjab government has made no such decision to prohibit TikTokers from entering public parks.
Last month, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) banned access to TikTok for failing to remove "inappropriate content." However, many young Tiktokers in Pakistan continue to use the popular video-sharing app through VPNs.
As a result, the restriction on entrance into public parks is most likely enforced on all TikTokers who continue to use and shoot TikTok videos. Meanwhile, the PHA is contemplating prohibiting more than two males from entering public parks together.
