On Sunday, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi combined for a 10-wicket hammering of India, giving Pakistan their first-ever T20 World Cup victory against India. The victory not only gave Pakistan a successful start to their World Cup campaign, but it also ended a 29-year curse in which Pakistan had lost 12 World Cup matches versus India in the 50- and 20-over forms.

 Rizwan, the 'fighter,' made it to a half-century in Pakistan versus Australia semi-final after being in ICU for a month.

Rizwan's heroics at the T20 World Cup has been described as "warrior" when officials disclosed that the wicketkeeper-batsman had been hospitalized with a severe chest infection before taking to the field to score half a century for Pakistan in their defeats to India and Australia.

With his unbeaten 67 from 52 balls in Pakistan's semi-final against Australia in Dubai on Thursday, Rizwan top-scored for his team, helping them win the final against New Zealand on Sunday with a score of 176.

Mitchell Starc took the wicket of opener Rizwan, who made an impressive half-century with four sixes and three fours before succumbing.

Opening batsman Babar Azam revealed even before the match that 29-year-old Rizwan was "a little bit sad."

"However, when I asked him about his health, he answered, 'no, I'm going to play,'" Babar explained.

Shoaib Akhtar Responds to PTV's Rs. 100 Million Notice

Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistan fast bowler, has angrily objected to the Rs. 100 million Recovery Notice issued by the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTVC) on Sunday. The famous cricketer said that he would not back down and would fight PTV in court.

"Utterly disappointed. After miserably failing to safeguard my respect and repute while I was working for PTV, they have now sent me a Recovery Notice. I am a fighter and will not give up and fight this legal battle. My lawyer, Salman Khan Niazi, will take this forward according to law," Shoaib stated in a tweet.

On Sunday, the national broadcaster presented Shoaib with a Rs. 100 million warning for contract breaches that "generated substantial financial losses." The letter, which was published on Twitter by a journalist, said that the former cricketer's unexpected retirement constituted a breach of contract that resulted in significant financial losses for the channel.

Shoaib was under contract for exclusivity until PTV Sports presenter Dr. Nauman Niaz requested him to quit the program on camera, causing the former to resign during the live broadcast on October 26.

"As per clause 22, both sides shall have right to terminate his agreement by serving three months’ written notice or payment in lieu thereof. Whereas, Shoaib Akhtar resigned on air on October 26 which has resulted in huge financial losses to PTV," continued the legal notification.

According to the letter, Shoaib also broke the contract by leaving for Dubai without alerting the channel management of his intention to attend an Indian TV station's broadcast with Harbhajan Singh.

Australia Confirms Tour to Pakistan After More Than Two Decades

The "Pakistan Cricket Board" (PCB) has announced that the Australian Cricket Team will travel to Pakistan for three Tests, three One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and one Twenty20 International (T20I). The trip will take place in March and April in the year 2022.

The three-match Test series will be included in the World Test Championship, while the three-match One-Day International series will be included in the International Cricket Council's ODI World Cup Super League. Both teams will be focused on obtaining the largest number of points possible for their respective championships. Dr. Nauman also disclosed that Shoaib had often breached his contract with PTV before the event. He said that Shoaib appeared on other TV programs while under contract with PTV and did not show up for work throughout the tournament. He noted that Shoaib's first appearance in the T20 World Cup came during the Pakistan-India match, despite being contracted to play from the start of the competition.

Former Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal says Mohammad Amir should apologize to Harbhajan Singh for their Twitter dispute. After Pakistan's 10-wicket triumph against India in the upcoming 2021 T20 World Cup, Amir and Harbhajan exchanged scathing words. Amir began the discussion by asking Harbhajan whether he had shattered his TV after Pakistan's victory. Former off-spinner Saeed Ajmal says Amir should not have started the debate and should apologize for his involvement in the heated confrontation.

Saqlain Mushtaq is expected to remain as Pakistan's head coach for the next tour.

Saqlain Mushtaq, Pakistan's temporary head coach, is expected to remain in charge of the national team for their next visit to Bangladesh. Saqlain was originally named Pakistan's head coach for the current 2021 T20 World Cup, but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to extend his contract for the forthcoming series.

According to reports, coaches from the National High-Performance Center (NHPC) would join Saqlain on his visit to Bangladesh as advisers. 

Matthew Hayden, a former Australian opening hitter, and Vernon Philander, a former South African seamer, are acting as batting and bowling advisers. Both previous stars were also recruited solely for the T20 World Cup.

According to sources, the PCB will hire a permanent head coach before Pakistan's home series against the West Indies, slated for later this year.

 Former South African hitter Gary Kirsten, former Australian batter Simon Katich, and former England head coach Peter Moores are the three frontrunners for the head coach position.

Shoaib feels Pakistan has the greatest chance of winning the T20 World Cup since their squad is tailored to the circumstances in the UAE. 

He said that the only side on par with Pakistan and capable of defeating them is England, who has also had a great start to their T20 World Cup campaign.

Babar Azam is poised to reclaim his position as the No. 1 T20I batsman.

Following a stunning 70 runs off 49 balls against Namibia on Tuesday, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is expected to ascend to the top of the T20I batting rankings.  Babar's 70-run innings were the major spark in the skipper's 113-run opening combination with Mohammad Rizwan, which enabled Pakistan to score a massive total of 189 runs. This was the tournament's second-highest total, after only Afghanistan's 190 against Scotland.

England's David Malan and Babar Azam are now in top and second place, respectively. However, this courageous inning is expected to close the 11-point gap between Babar and the current No. 1 T20I hitter, Malan, in the T20I batting rankings. South Africa's Aiden Markram (743), Pakistan's M. Rizwan (727), and India's Virat Kohli (725) round out the top five.
