Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistan fast bowler, feels Pakistan can win the 2021 T20 World Cup if they maintain their concentration and continue to play the way they have throughout the competition. Shoaib compared Pakistan's performance in the competition to the 1999 Cricket World Cup and advised the players not to get comfortable at any point during the huge event.

He also hoped that Pakistan's squad would not have a horrible day as they did in the 1999 Cricket World Cup final.

"This World Cup shouldn’t slip through our fingers. We don’t want a bad day, like in 1999. The way Pakistan are playing currently, and are cruising through games, reminds me of our 1999 ODI World Cup. So we don’t want any unlucky day which embarrasses us. So, let’s win it," Shoaib said.

Pakistan has had an outstanding start to the competition, winning their first four games and being the first side to qualify for the big event's semi-finals.

They had a similar run in the 1999 Cricket World Cup when they were the top team until the final. Pakistan surrendered to Australia in the final, losing by eight wickets.

Shoaib feels Pakistan has the greatest chance of winning the T20 World Cup since their squad is tailored to the circumstances in the UAE.

He said that the only side on par with Pakistan and capable of defeating them is England, who has also had a great start to their T20 World Cup campaign.
