Almost a month after revealing that the e-commerce giant Amazon has included Pakistan on its official sellers' list, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood has acknowledged another game-changing discovery for the country's increasing link with the global market.

"I am happy to see that, after @amazon, @Facebook has recently launched a marketplace for Pakistan, it will encourage small entrepreneurs to sell online. Such opportunities during COVID-19 could be a lifeline for micro-enterprises”, Dawood said in a tweet.

He also highlighted the impact of Facebook combining its commercial offering with Pakistan's increasing traffic, highlighting the important role it might play for "women entrepreneurs who want to engage in the market by buying and selling in the community of friends, family, and networks. The first step towards eCommerce."

Local artisans and traders will be exposed to international-level facilities for promoting and perhaps selling their items in return for profits, thanks to the highlighted inclusion of Pakistan on Facebook's newest online retail offering.
