The Huawei Mate 50's debut has been a mixed bag from the start, at least in terms of speculations. Some sources in recent weeks anticipated that it would be released around the fourth quarter of this year, but we are now receiving conflicting information.

Digital Chat Station, a tipster, believes that the Huawei Mate 50 will be released in Q1 2021. He says that the phone will have the Snapdragon 898, Qualcomm's next flagship processor, in 4G only mode. This storey either contradicts earlier forecasts of an October 2021 launch date, or it just indicates a significant gap between the launch and availability dates. We've seen it happen with other phones previously, particularly when there are just a few devices available on the market.

These phones often hit the market months after their introduction and are immediately sold out. This is hardly surprising given Huawei's inability to obtain components for quite some time. Even the Huawei Mate 40 was manufactured in restricted quantities and was swiftly removed from the market after its first release.

The SM8425 SoC, which is the model number for Qualcomm's next flagship SoC, is said to be used, although the Snapdragon 898 name has yet to be verified.
