After months of rumors and leaks, Google has officially unveiled the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 XL smartphones. Top-tier technology and an entirely new design separate the Pixel 6 series from the mid-range position held by the Pixel 5.

Concept and Presentation

Two distinct colors distinguish the phones, with one hue on the camera housing and another on the housing below it. A huge protruding aisle runs across the width of the phones to house the rear cameras, giving them a distinctive appearance.

Pixel phones once had colorful side buttons but replaced those with plain ones.

A 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz comes standard on the Pixel 6, while the larger Pixel 6 has no support for changing refresh rates. With bigger bezels and a flat-screen, it offers Gorilla Glass Victus protection like the Pro model.

6.7-inch 1440p display with 120Hz refresh rate and reduced bezels characterize the Pixel 6 Pro. Due to the panel's LTPO technology, it has a limited refresh rate capability of only 10Hz. Google prefers it this as 3D glass because of the curved display it features.

Both phones have fingerprint sensors embedded in the displays.

In terms of hardware, both phones are powered by a custom Tensor chip made by Google. This is the first smartphone chip to use a 5nm process and have two powerful Cortex-X1 processor cores. There are two high-performance cores here, as well as four power-saving ones.

A bespoke image processor and a Titan M2 security chip are also included in this chip for enhanced photography and data security. New AI functions have been added to the chip due to the improved AI and machine learning capabilities. The Magic Eraser, Live Translate, and other features are included.

Pixel 6 stock models only come with 8 GB of RAM and a choice of 128GB or 256GB of onboard storage. The Pixel 6 Pro comes standard with 12GB of RAM, but the company is now offering a 512GB storage option.

Android 12 users will have access to security updates from Google for the next five years, as well as OS updates for the next four.

Camera Detail

There are two cameras on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, both of which are 50MP. The 50MP primary camera is a substantial upgrade over the Pixel 5, as it features a considerably larger sensor that can gather 150 percent more light. As a result, your low-light shots should be significantly better.

The Pro model has a 48MP telephoto camera. Although it has a built-in 4x zoom lens, Google claims its Super Res Zoom feature allows it to zoom in as much as 20X. 4K 60FPS videos and 1080p slow-motion videos are both supported by both phones.

The front camera of the Pixel 6 Pro is an 11.1MP fixed-focus camera, while the standard Pixel 6 only has an 8MP sensor.

Battery and Cost

Due to the larger size of the Pixel 6 Pro, the battery capacity is increased to 5,000 mAh, while the ordinary Pixel 6 has a 4,600 mAh cell. Fast charging (30W) is supported by both phones. However, a charger isn't supplied in the package with either one.

For $599, Google Pixel 6 will be available to the general public, while the Pixel 6 Pro will be available for $899.
