Along with the Z Fold 3, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is one of Samsung's most noteworthy launches this year, expanding the company's folding range. The Z Flip 3 is similar to its Z Fold brother in that it has a larger outer display, a stronger main display, improved hardware, and other enhancements.

Display and Design

The primary display of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, much like the previous model, however this time, it has a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This panel's screen resolution is 1080 x 2636 pixels, with a pixel density of 425 PPI. The phone's bezels are also slimmer than previously, and the overall chassis is thinner.

The back panel is now two-tone, with a black finish surrounding the primary camera and secondary display.

The secondary display has been upgraded to a 1.9" Super AMOLED screen, making it much more useful than before. The smaller screen may be used to check alerts quickly, check the time, adjust music playing, or accept calls.

Both screens have been covered with Gorilla Glass Victus for increased durability. The hinge has been modified to be more robust than it was before. As a result, the Z Flip can now withstand more folds and is IPX8 water-resistant, which putting it on par with other premium smartphones.

On the other hand, Dust resistance is non-existent since it still tends to become stuck in the hinge.

Internals and Storage

In terms of hardware, you get the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor, also found in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the S21 series. This will be coupled with 8GB of RAM and storage choices of 128GB/256GB because the 128GB trim was absent from last year's model. So, cheaper versions will be available, and there is no memory card slot for additional storage. The phone will come with Android 11, but it will be upgradeable to Android 12 in the future.

Cameras

The primary camera system comprises two 12MP sensors. The main camera will be a wide-angle lens with OIS and 4K video recording capabilities, while the secondary camera will be an ultrawide shooter with a 120-degree field of view. When the phone is folded, the back cameras may be utilized as front cameras, with the smaller screen acting as a viewfinder.

The punch-hole front camera is a 10MP shooter that can also capture 4K video at 30 frames per second. Overall, the camera arrangement is quite identical to the Z Fold 3.

Battery and Pricing

Unfortunately, the battery capacity remains the same at 3,300 mAh. Fast charging capability has increased to 25W. Because it is a smaller battery with fast charging capability, it should charge significantly quicker than larger batteries.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes in several colors: green, pink, blue, grey, black, and others. It will be available for $1000, giving it a realistic alternative for those seeking to purchase a folding phone without going insane (the Z Fold 3 costs $1800).
