TCL has announced the TCL 20Y, a new cheap phone for the South American and African markets. It will be available in additional areas shortly, with a starting price of $132.

The display is a 6.52-inch IPS LCD with 720p resolution, a waterdrop notch front camera, and a hefty bottom bezel to begin with. The device's actual fingerprint sensor is located on the rear. Overall, the phone has a hefty form factor and is heavier than other budget phones in this price range.

It has a cheap Helio A25 SoC with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that can be expanded with a microSD card. The phone comes with android 11 and TCL custom skin is also applied.

The primary triple camera system on the rear comprises a 48MP primary sensor as well as two 2MP depth sensors and macro cameras. It can capture 1080p movies at 30 frames per second. The front camera in the waterdrop notch is an 8MP sensor.

The 4,000 mAh battery is charged through a USB C connection. However, it does not allow rapid charging. The TCL 20Y costs $132 and comes in two colours: black and blue.
