The iPhone 13 family has four models: the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 Mini, the iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. All four are currently available for purchase and will begin delivering shortly. The shape remains mostly the same, with the same flat edges, rounded corners, and metal sides, but the notch is 20% smaller than previously. Aside from that, there are a few noteworthy hardware improvements to discuss.

Display and Design Overview

The iPhone 13 Mini has a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR display, while the standard iPhone 13 has a 6.1-inch display. Both are OLED screens that are 28% brighter than previously at 800 nits and a staggering 1200 nits for outdoor use. Unfortunately, the high refresh rate is only available on the Pro models.

However, Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG, and the P3 wide color gamut are all supported. As usual, the ceramic shield layer on the screen provides additional protection and IP68 dust and water resistance.

Storage and Internals Overview

One of the most noticeable improvements on the new iPhones is the Apple A15 Bionic processor.

Apple claims that it has the most powerful smartphone processor globally, which may be accurate given how often they outperform the competition.

It's a 5nm device with two new high-performance CPU cores and four more high-efficiency cores. According to reports, the custom GPU is 30% quicker than the competitors.

It also has a new display engine, a new ISP, a faster neural engine, new video encoders and decoders, and many more improvements.

The iPhone 13 and 13 Mini now have 128GB of storage as standard, but you can upgrade to 256GB or 512GB. There is currently no information on RAM size. However, the phone will boot iOS 15 out of the box.

Cameras Overview

The iPhone 13 and 13 Mini continue to feature two primary cameras on the rear, both of which are 12MP. The primary 12MP camera, on the other hand, features the same sensor as the iPhone 12 Pro Max, along with sensor-shift stabilization for extremely stable pictures and movies.

The 12MP ultrawide camera also receives a new sensor, but not the same focusing functions as the Pro versions.

These cameras can catch considerably more light than previous models, resulting in better night mode photographs and generally clearer images. The 12MP selfie camera supports the increasingly popular Centre Stage function, which allows you to fit more people in the picture while automatically following you around.

Pricing and Battery Overview

The iPhone 13 and 13 Mini both have larger batteries, but Apple hasn't released any specific statistics or quick charging numbers.

Despite this, Apple promises up to 2.5 hours and 1.5 hours of additional battery life over the iPhone 12.

The iPhone 13 Mini begins at $699, while the standard iPhone 13 costs $799. Both will be accessible very soon all over the world.
