The OnePlus 9 Has a Secret Issue That No One Is Aware Of

Once again, OnePlus has been embroiled in a dispute about the performance of their phones. The OnePlus 9 series is limiting its speed when it comes to popular applications this time.
A report from Anandtech initially revealed the issue, but OnePlus has now acknowledged that its phones are doing so. While using popular apps like Chrome, Twitter, and WhatsApp, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro limit the performance of the Snapdragon 888 processor.
What's noteworthy is that the two phones' performance isn't throttled when it comes to benchmarking tools.
Geekbench, a famous benchmarking programme, researched the issue after Anandtech reported it. Geekbench's staff stated:
It's disappointing to see OnePlus handsets making performance decisions based on application identifiers rather than application behavior. We view this as a form of benchmark manipulation.
OnePlus responded quickly when the problem was discovered. The firm stated that it improved the performance of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro in response to user complaints regarding battery life. These phones, according to OnePlus, limit their performance in popular apps to optimise battery consumption and manage thermals.
This is not, however, the first time that OnePlus did such a thing. The corporation incorporated code in its software during the days of the OnePlus 3T, artificially boosting hardware performance when running some benchmarking applications. XDA developers have also caught OnePlus using a OnePlus 5 to do something similar. OnePlus did the same thing with the OnePlus 5 as well, according to XDA Developers.
