Qualcomm's next flagship processor, the Snapdragon 898, is likely to be launched before the end of this year. The device will be built using a 4nm technology, which promises faster clock speeds and other benefits.
Ice Universe, a reliable leaker, reports that the Snapdragon 898 will be equipped with the following CPU configuration:
- A single Cortex-X2 based Kryo 780 core at 3.09GHz
- Three Cortex-A710 based Kryo 780 cores at 2.4GHz
- Four Cortex-A510 based Kryo 780 cores at 1.8GHz
The informant earlier stated that the processor would be named the Snapdragon 898 rather than the 895, contradicting several prior claims. He also noted that the Super Core's clock speed would be 3.09GHz. Given that he has obtained these leaks, it is probable that a prototype is now being tested.
According to a Weibo update, the aforementioned clock speeds have not altered.

In his article, he also disclosed the clock rates of the remaining cores, which are the same as the Kyro 680 cores on the Snapdragon 888. These unchanging clock rates might be due to Samsung's 4nm node, which is reported to be inferior to TSMC's 4nm node.
Of course, this does not mean that there will be no performance differences since there will be numerous enhancements onboard.
Once the benchmarks are revealed, we'll see how the Snapdragon 898 compares to its predecessors and competing processors.
