TikTok is experimenting with Instagram-style Stories.

TikTok has revealed that it is working on its own Stories feature, just after Twitter abandoned its "Fleets" 'Stories' function. The functionality was discovered by a Twitter user and was quickly verified by TikTok.
A TikTok spokesman responded to the news, saying:
We’re always thinking about new ways to
ing value to our community and enrich the TikTok experience. Currently we’re experimenting with ways to give creators additional formats to
ing their creative ideas to life for the TikTok Community.
Remember that TikTok Stories will not replace the app's existing storytelling features like Duets, Live, and Stitch.
TikTok Stories will function similarly to Instagram. They will vanish after 24 hours, but you may see who viewed your Stories and read the comments. Unlike Instagram, though, it will not be part of the home screen and will be accessed by swiping left on the main feed or touching a user's avatar.
TikTok hasn't specified how long they'll test it or when they'll deploy it, but given that it's currently in testing and numerous people have seen the function, it shouldn't be too long.
