Twitter Will Soon Issue Warnings Regarding "Intense" Conversations

You'll be alerted by the app before you stumble across a contentious debate between Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif on Twitter. Facebook is experimenting with a "heads up" tool that would notify you if there is a tiff on the social network.
This functionality has been in development for a few weeks and will act as an useful PSA (Public Service Announcement) on Android and Twitter. Twitter's mobile app is currently accepting beta testers for the new functionality. To help you avoid needless arguments, Twitter will give you discussion warnings and remind you that the other person is listening. These reminders will help you concentrate on the facts and evaluate the worth of opposing viewpoints.

The new Heads Up tool seeks to empower the Twitter community, similarly to Birdwatch, Twitter's feature against disinformation and false news. By alerting users to possible conflicts and encouraging them to be polite, it should help reduce the amount of toxic discussion on the site. However, this function will not take the place of Twitter's new Safety Mode, which aids users in avoiding online abuse.
Since the Heads Up function is already being tested, it's safe to assume that it will be made available to the general public in the near future. As soon as new information becomes available, we'll be sure to post it here.
