The iQOO 8 and 8 Pro have been confirmed as Vivo's next flagship phones, ticking all the criteria for a premium Android phone in 2021. These phones include the newest Snapdragon 888+ processor, 120Hz screens, 120W super-fast charging, and more.

Display and Design Overview

The iQOO 8 and 8 Pro have the same design; however, the basic model has a slightly smaller 6.56′′ AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The Pro model features a larger 6.76-inch LTPO OLED screen with a resolution of 1440p and a customizable refresh rate of 1-120Hz.

Both screens support 10-bit colours and have an under-display fingerprint sensor. However, only the iQOO 8 Pro comes with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that can unlock your phone even if your fingers are wet.

Internals and Storage Overview

The iQOO 8 will be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 888 SoC, while the 8 Pro will come with an overclocked Snapdragon 888+ with a quicker CPU and better AI. Only the Pro variant will come with 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, while the basic model is restricted to 12GB/256GB. Both versions feature lower-cost memory trimming but no memory card port for expansion. Moreover, iQOO 8 and 8 Pro will run Origin OS on top of Android 11.

Camera Overview

The iQOO 8 Pro's primary camera is a 50MP Sony IMX766 with a 7P freeform lens, which is the same sensor that was used in the OnePlus Nord 2, and the Oppo Find X3 Pro. Like other previous Vivo flagships, the main camera features 5-axis gimbal stabilization. A 48MP ultrawide sensor and a 16MP depth camera are also included.

Instead, the iQOO 8 would come with a 48MP Sony IMX598 main module, as well as a 13MP ultrawide shooter and a 13MP portrait camera. Both phones have the ability to capture 8K footage.

Battery and Pricing Overview

The iQOO 8 features a 4,350 mAh battery that can be fully charged in 18 minutes due to the 120W rapid charging. The iQOO 8 Pro features a slightly larger 4,500 mAh battery and supports 50W wireless charging as well as 10W reverse wireless charging.

The iQOO 8 costs $585, while the iQOO 8 Pro costs $770. Both phones will be available in China starting next week.
