Microsoft has officially launched Windows 11 as a stable upgrade across the globe. All Windows 10 users with suitable PCs will be able to get it for free. Again, your PC is only compatible with Windows 11 if an Intel 8th generation CPU powers it or later, an AMD Ryzen 3000 CPU or later, has at least 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, a 720p display or higher, and a DirectX 12 compliant GPU.

To upgrade to Windows 11, you must first wait for Windows Update to make it accessible to you. The Windows 11 upgrade will be accessible initially to newer computers, i.e. those launched in 2021, and will gradually be made available to older devices over several months.

However, suppose you have a new PC that is compatible with Windows 11. In that case, the update should be available in the coming weeks. Users using older computers will almost certainly have to wait until next year. The update is also available via Microsoft's Windows 11 Download Assistant. It is available for download from Microsoft's website and functions similarly to the Windows Update system already included in Windows 10. The programme will download the update for you, and you can select when to apply it.

You may also get a programme from Microsoft's website that allows you to build a bootable USB to install Windows 11. Finally, if you prefer the old-fashioned method, you may burn the ISO file on a DVD.
