Windows 11 will run Android applications natively inside the operating system without the need for third-party software, but not at launch. Some of us may have to wait a little longer for the functionality to become available.

Microsoft has stated that when Windows 11 is released on October 5, it will not support native Android applications. However, it will be made accessible to Windows Insiders in the coming months. There is no indication of when it will be accessible to the general public.

Regardless, most users across the world will not have to wait long. This is because Windows 11 will be released in stages after October 5. It will first be accessible exclusively on new qualifying PCs, and later it will be made available on older machines.

The criterion for deployment will be based on hardware eligibility, dependability metrics, device age, and other considerations. Here are the system requirements for Windows 11 so you can see whether your PC is compatible:

  • Processor: 64-bit architecture at 1 GHz or faster; Intel 8th Gen or newer,  AMD Ryzen 3000 or better, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c or better
  • RAM: 4 GB or higher
  • Storage: 64 GB or more
  • Display: HD (720p) display, larger than 9-inches diagonal in size, 8-bit color channel (or better)
  • TPM: Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0
  • Graphics card: Direct X12 or later capable; WDDM 2.0 driver or newer

According to Microsoft, all eligible PCs will get the Windows 11 upgrade by mid-2022. Microsoft has plenty of time to deliver Android app compatibility.

The good news is that the remainder of Windows 11's key features will be accessible at launch. This features a new user interface and Start menu, updated settings, gameplay improvements, and more.
