Huawei has officially revealed the Nova 9 series, which is the company's newest mid-ranger and, given the amount of technology involved in its manufacturing, maybe the next flagship killer. While Google applications and services are still not supported, there are a number of noteworthy features available for a near-premium fee.

Display and Design Overview

The Nova 9 comes with a 6.57-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution upfront. The Pro variant has a 6.72-inch screen with a higher pixel density.

On the regular Nova 9, the selfie camera is placed in a punch-hole cutout in the center, while the Pro variant's dual selfie shooter is housed in a pill-shaped cutout. In addition, a vertical pill-shaped bump with four cameras is present on the back of both models. An optical fingerprint sensor is installed underneath the display on both phones.

Storage and Internal Components

With 8 GB of RAM, 128GB/256GB of storage, and no microSD card slot for expansion, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 is at the helm of both Nova siblings. In addition, both phones come pre-installed with HarmonyOS 2.0 and are GMS-free (Google Mobile Services). 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage will be available on the Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro, respectively.

Cameras Overview

A 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a pair of 2MP + 2MP depth and macro sensors sit above an LED flash on the back of the phone's pill-shaped camera unit. These cameras can record at 30 frames per second in 1080p and 4K resolutions. The regular Nova 9 has a 32MP selfie camera, while the Pro variant has a dual-camera setup with HDR-capable 32MP wide and 32MP ultrawide sensors that can capture movies in 4K.

Pricing & Battery Overview

The Nova 9 has a 4,300 mAh battery with 66W fast-charging capability, which should be sufficient for a full day of networking. The Pro variant features a 4,000mAh battery that is somewhat lighter than the standard model, but it also supports quicker 100W charging. The Huawei Nova 9 and Huawei Nova 9 Pro are available in black, blue, green, and violet. The basic Nova 9 with 8GB/128GB storage will cost $418, with the 256GB model costing an extra $50. The Nova 9 Pro may cost up to $604.
