Xiaomi has recently made news for being one of the world's best-selling smartphone companies. The Chinese business has no intention of slowing down now that it has reached yet another milestone in the smartphone industry.

Xiaomi was the most prominent 5G Android smartphone brand in the second quarter of 2021, with a market share of 26%. According to a new analysis from research company Strategy Analytics.

In the second quarter of 2021, 94.6 million smartphones were shipped, with Xiaomi accounting for 24.3 million. This gave Xiaomi a 25.7 percent market share in smartphones, placing the company ahead of the competition.

The firm grew 452 percent over the previous year, while Lenovo led the way with a staggering 3480 percent gain. Realme came in second with 1773 percent. OnePlus and Honor also performed admirably over the same period.

Vivo and Oppo were ranked second and third in market share, with 18.5 percent and 17.9 percent, respectively.

Xiaomi has sold 70.4 million smartphones since the first quarter of 2019, trailing Samsung's 76.5 million shipments over the same period. Huawei continues to be the leader in cumulative 5G Android smartphone shipments, with 95 million devices sold. However, the company's hold on the market is rapidly eroding as a result of US sanctions.
