Vivo, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has unveiled its new IQOO Z5 range, which includes new features. While the Z5 series is anticipated to outperform the preceding IQOO Z3 in terms of battery, performance, and usability, the phone's future outside of China remains unknown. Regardless, the midrange market has a new rival, and the IQOO Z5 seems to be a complete package.
Display and Design
The display is somewhat larger than previously and has a more robust set of capabilities. It has a 6.67" IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz, a peak brightness of 650 nits, and a punch-hole cutout for a 16MP selfie camera. The primary camera configuration is situated on the left in a vertical rectangular hump.
The fingerprint sensor is located on the side of the device and also serves as the power button.
Storage and Internals
The IQOO Z5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 processor, which supports 5G and provides somewhat more exceptional performance and battery life than its predecessor (Z3). This is accompanied with 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of storage.
Unfortunately, the storage isn't expandable, and there's no microSD card slot.
The iQOO Z5 runs Vivo's Origin OS based on Android 11, while foreign versions are anticipated to use Funtouch OS 12. A 3.5mm headphone port, Bluetooth 5.2, and stereo speakers are also included.
Cameras
The camera arrangement is almost identical to that of the previous Z3 series. The primary sensor is a 64MP device with an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro shooter complementing it. In addition, the punch-hole selfie camera has a 16MP resolution.
Pricing and Battery
The battery capacity has been increased to 5,000 mAh, and charging has been enhanced to 44W. This should be enough to charge the smartphone in less than 50 minutes. The IQOO Z5 will be offered in Arctic Dawn, Mystic Space, and Aurora colour choices, with a starting price of $293. The maximum-capacity version (12GB/256GB) will cost $324 and will be on sale on September 28th.
