Telcos Respond to the government proposal of the Punjab to block unvaccinated citizens

The country's TCAs decided to refuse a possible move to block SIM cards of people who refuse the Coronavirus vaccine from the government of Punjab.
Telecom providers argue that the Punjab government did not contact them before proposing terminating the mobile connections of unvaccinated individuals to increase COVID-19 vaccinations.
They argue that the provincial government has various options available to encourage citizens to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Punjab administration conducted a high-level conference earlier this week to discuss recommendations and constraints on mandatory COVID-19 immunization.
Participants at the meeting proposed that the government block the SIM cards and access shopping malls and restaurants of citizens who refuse COVID-19 vaccinations.
Citizens of Punjab were also presented with a proposal to have all of them vaccinated against COVID-19.
