During the official debut of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 last month, WhatsApp revealed plans to enable chat transfer across iOS and Android. The function is currently available. However, it is limited to Samsung smartphones for the time being. If you have a Samsung smartphone running Android 10 or 11, you can now use the "import chat history" option in Settings to move your iPhone conversations to it.

Your account information, profile picture, individual conversations, group chats, chat history, media, and settings will be transferred. However, your call history and display name will not be transferred to the new device. Keep in mind that you won't be able to accomplish this over a wifi connection, so you'll need a USB-C to Lightning adapter to connect both devices.

WhatsApp guarantees that no messages, pictures, videos, or other material are sent to WhatsApp during the process of exchanging conversations. When you set up a new Samsung smartphone with Android 10 or 11, you'll be able to transfer your conversations between your iOS and Samsung device safely. However, you may only do so if your Samsung smartphone is brand new or has been factory reset from the settings.

More information regarding chat transfer may be found on WhatsApp's blog. According to the blog post, the functionality will be accessible for more Android smartphones in the near future.
