Message reactions are available in several major social applications, like Instagram, Discord, Skype, and others, but they have never been included in WhatsApp. That may soon change, as WhatsApp seems to be testing the functionality in its most recent beta version.

WABeta Info, a tech site that foresees future WhatsApp features before they are revealed, discovered the functionality. According to the newest beta version of WhatsApp, the firm is testing message reactions with a minimal group of users.

This tool, like others, allows you to react to a message using emojis rapidly. Long-press a message to display a row of emojis to quickly react with one rather than needing to quote a reply.

To utilize the functionality once it becomes available, you must have the most recent version of WhatsApp. If you don't, you'll see the notice shown in the picture below. Someone spotted the message, which was meant as a test, shared the screenshot.

It's unknown when the function will be accessible to everyone, and the fact that it's presently in testing doesn't tell us much either. This is because WhatsApp often tests things publicly before they are ready for release, so be patient as it may take months to become official.
